KIDS CLASSES (ages 6 -11)
There is no right or wrong age when it comes to when your kid should start practicing martial arts. It is very individual for any kid and when they are “ready”, and the purpose of the karate school. At our karate academy we start teaching kids that are at least 6 years old.
Our first goal with the little kids is to teach them the dojo etiquette of respect, discipline and focus. Everything in karate starts and finishes with respect. That is why our first goal is to teach the little karate students to greet and bow properly, to show respect to their instructors and teammates.
Another paramount element in karate and every sport is Discipline. In the dictionary there are many definitions of discipline. One of them is: “When you have discipline, you have self-control. When you discipline children, you are either teaching them to be well-behaved, or you are punishing and correcting them.” Consequently, kids should expect many push-ups or jumps if they do not show self-control.
We have classes for the little kids three times per week.
